Hydrophone, ±4 dB at 80 kHz, -174 dB re 1 V/µPa receiving sensitivity, ultra-low noise internal amplifier, integral polyurethane cable, rated to 1000 PSI / 680m sea water depth underwater microphone, test and measurement
H23 series hydrophones are small, versatile, self-amplified, and shielded for a variety of underwater acoustic measurements. They are rugged and low-cost with a flat frequency response. Omnidirectional measurements can be taken over a wide range of frequencies and orientations. The ultra-low noise internal amplifier eliminates triboelectric cable noise, connector contamination problems, and the requirement for an expensive inline amplifier. The hydrophone and cable entry are completely encapsulated in polyurethane to alleviate water ingress caused by cathodic action. Pre-aged piezoelectric (PZT) sensing elements promote long-term stability.
Lab and ocean applications for the H23 series hydrophones include calibration, military surveillance, underwater biological studies, ship noise studies, pump cavitation and machinery studies, and monitoring of underwater ordnance.
